About Us




Introducing the editors
Michael Ayton has worked as an editor since 1983, and since 1991 as a part-time lecturer in English literature at the Centre for Lifelong Learning, University of Newcastle. He has worked for numerous publishers, including Cassell, Sage and Oxford University Press, as well as for a range of other employers, specialising in literature and the social sciences. He is resident editor at the Newcastle Centre for Family Studies, University of Newcastle.

John Metson has a PhD in English, and has taught English literature at Durham, Teesside and Sunderland Universities, as well as English language and literature in the Arab universities in the West Bank, where he lived from 1981 to 1984. He has been a copy editor since 1994, and has worked for clients from all over the world, specialising in editing texts by Arab writers.
